Xylocon 0.05% Nasal Spray 10ml is a safe nasal decongestant that swiftly narrows blood vessels, delivering rapid relief lasting for hours. 

Side Effects of Xylocon 0.05% Nasal Spray 10ml

Possible side effects include local irritation, dryness of the mouth and throat, and temporary discomfort such as burning, stinging, sneezing, or increased nasal discharge.

Quick Suggestions:

• Shake the bottle before using the medicine.
• Clean your nose thoroughly before using the medicine.
• Insert the bottle tip into one nostril and close the other nostril.
• Direct the spray towards the sides of your nostril, away from the cartilage dividing the two sides of your nose.
• Breathe out gently through your mouth, and repeat the same process for the other nostril.
• Avoid deep breathing, as this can cause the medication to flow back into the throat and make it less effective.
• Do not share the bottle with anyone else to prevent the spread of germs.
• Oxymetazoline can lead to worsening nasal congestion if used for more than 3 or 4 days in a row, a condition known as "rebound congestion."

Indication of Xylocon 0.05% Nasal Spray 10ml

• Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride is used to treat various nasal conditions, including:
  • Nasal congestion is caused by acute or chronic rhinitis.
  • Common cold.
  • Sinusitis.
  • Upper respiratory allergies.
  • Epistaxis (nosebleeds).
  • Hay fever.
• It's also used to treat otitis media (middle ear inflammation) as a nasal decongestant.

Pharmacology

• Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic amine derived from imidazoline.
• It acts as a direct agonist on α-adrenoceptors but not on β-adrenoceptors.
• Topical application to the nasal mucosa causes rapid and long-lasting vasoconstriction of arterioles, reducing blood flow and mucosal edema.
• This improves airway potency and enhances nasal sinus drainage.

Interaction
